Waiting on Wednesday #5- City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Dear friends,
By now you guys probably know I’m not a fan of Jace and Clary anymore, ever since the cast for the movie came out, and when Cassandra Clare decided to do a “second trilogy” thing.
I really hate it when people beat dead horses. Just how many series does Jace need? Oh wait… THREE.

Jace and Clary and dead horses aside, I’d still love to see how Maia and Jordan are hitting it off. Not to mention Simon and Isabelle! (I’m strangely charmed by that Shadowhunter/Vampire couple). And I guess I’m kind of a sucker for Magnus and Alec too… so I’ve decided to stick it for the next book, and possibly just skip all the Clary-fainting-parts.

Proud to wait on:

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Release Date: March 1, 2014

8755785

In Book 6: City of Heavenly Fire, Jace, Clary and their friends are drawn inexorably into a war that pits Heaven against Hell, angels against demons—a war that threatens to destroy our world entirely if the Shadowhunters can’t end it first.

It’s funny, cause the blurb sounds so familiar. Okay, okay I’ll stop! Wait one more. The title (City of Fallen Angles, Lost Souls, Heavenly Fire etc) just loses the one syllable ring unlike the first three books (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass)…

Apologies for all the groaning.

Love always,
The Permanent Monday

  1. I don’t blame you for wanting to pull your hair out! City of bones was supposed to be a stand alone but then it wasn’t. And now…it’s like she won’t stop until Clary or Jace is dead and gone…

    • City of Bones was supposed to be a standalone?! I think she made a good choice in continuing the City of Bones until City of Glass because there was a lot of things in CoB that she could have developed and I think the “ending” was better in the City of Glass. If she just stopped there it would have been perfect!
